IAN ALTMAN TO PERFORM PIANO RECITAL AT MGC

(Cochran, GA) – Ian Altman will perform a piano recital featuring the works of Chopin, Schubert, Liszt, and Scarlatti on Tuesday, November 8 at 7:30 p.m. at the Russell Hall Theatre at Middle Georgia College.

Ian Altman has been performing since age 12 across the United States, as well as in chamber music concerts and appearances with orchestras. He also regularly performs recitals with his wife, cellist Barbara Altman. Altman studied at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York, where he frequently performed solo recitals, as well as at the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he pursued his Doctor of Musical Arts degree. Altman is also an Associate Professor in the Townsend School of Music at Mercer University, and is involved with the Georgia Music Educators Association and the Georgia Music Teachers Association, where he has served as an adjudicator of competitions and festivals.
