![]() MGC STUDENT WINS GIFT CERTIFICATE FROM COCHRAN BETTER HOMETOWN During the MGC Back to School Bash, Cochran Better Hometown gave away a $50 Gift Certificate to an MGC student to encourage shopping in downtown Cochran. The lucky winner is Yue Chu. He chose to spend his money at The Music Box. Ria, as he prefers to be called, is a violinist and wanted a stand to hold his music. CBHT President, Russell Davidson, presented Ria with the Gift Certificate and The Music Box owner, Jason Ledbetter, with a check for $50. In an effort to bring MGC students downtown to shop, Cochran Better Hometown has initiated an MGC Student Discount Program. Some 25 businesses in downtown Cochran have signed up to give discounts to MGC students. The businesses display a sticker in their window and students use their student ID cards to receive their discount. Mr. Davidson said, “Cochran Better Hometown is all about helping the downtown businesses any way we can. This MGC Discount Program should offer a win/win situation”. Mr. Ledbetter said he has seen an increase in student shoppers recently. |
