MIDDLE GEORGIA STATE COLLEGE HOSTS MLK EVENTS

(Cochran, GA) – Middle Georgia State College* is hosting several events to honor the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

The Multicultural Affairs program is hosting "Incognito," a theatrical presentation that takes audiences on a compelling journey while covering identity, diversity, and stereotypes, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, in Russell Auditorium on the Cochran Campus. This entertaining and enlightening tale of self-discovery challenges audiences to carefully examine their assumptions about others. Free and open to the public. Black Student Unification, a student organization, will sponsor "A Dream Deferred: Commemorating the Life and Legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr." at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, in the Arts Complex Theater on the Macon Campus. The life of King will be remembered in song, dance and spoken word and feature the Middle Georgia State College Gospel Choir. Free and open to the public. The Multicultural Affairs program and African-American Male Initiative will be part of the Black History Program beginning at 2:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 21, at House of Grace, 132 Jac-Arts Road, Cochran. *Middle Georgia State College is scheduled to be formally created by a vote of the Board of Regents on January 8, 2013. The new institution will result from the consolidation of Macon State College and Middle Georgia College.
