SCHOLARSHIPS AWARDED AT MGC GEORGIA AVIATION CAMPUS

(Cochran, GA) – Two scholarships were recently awarded through the Middle Georgia College Foundation at the Georgia Aviation Campus in Eastman.
The first recipient of the Bertie Mae Garrett Endowed Scholarship is Lana Ruyack. Lana is working towards a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Logistics Management and Aviation Management at the Georgia Aviation Campus. She is pursuing a career in aviation logistics as a transportation manager. She is the daughter of Stephen and Renee Ruyack and is from Hinesville, Georgia. She worked this summer as a volunteer at the MGC Sky Camp on the Eastman Campus.
The recipient of this year’s Ed Allen Endowed Memorial Scholarship is Miranda Ross, a flight student and Junior at the Georgia Aviation Campus. Miranda is working towards a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an Emphasis in Fixed Wing Flight and an Associate of Criminal Justice. She is from Doerun, Georgia, and is the daughter of Eddie and Nan Ross. She plans to fly for Delta Airlines in the future. “Thanks to the Ed Allen Memorial Aviation Scholarship, I will be able to further my aspirations in the field of aviation and accomplish the goal of soaring through the skies in an aircraft, a goal that I have had since the age of four,” said Miss Ross.
Pictured with the scholarship recipients is Nylan Hinson, sister of Ed Allen and dear friend and former student of Mrs. Bertie Mae Garrett. She is a trustee with the MGC Foundation and played an important role in getting these scholarships established.
