MGC’S GEORGIA AVIATION CAMPUS HOLDS ANNUAL SPRING PICNIC
By: Tricia Purser Release Date:04/30/2012
(Cochran, GA) – The Georgia Aviation Campus of Middle Georgia College recently held their Spring Picnic for students, faculty, staff, and community members. The Eastman Student Government Association held a canned food drive to benefit the Dodge County Food Bank. Students who donated 10 cans were entered into a drawing to win a new iPad. With over 500 cans collected from faculty, staff, and students, Anthony Irving, a student majoring in Flight Technology-Airplane, won the iPad. Participants were able to enjoy Bruster’s ice cream, sponsored by the Women in Aviation club, as well as participate in games such as a cornhole tournament. Christy Faulk, the Eastman Student Services Coordinator, said “It was a beautiful day for a BBQ picnic on the Eastman Campus! We had all sorts of activities going on from cornhole tournaments to kite flying! We also collected a huge amount of canned goods for the local food bank. All of the students, faculty, and staff had a great time. I would like to say thank you to the Aviation Campus for their generous donations, The Rotorhead’s Club and Women in Aviation for their participation and, of course, to the Eastman Campus SGA for all of their hard work in planning this event! It would not have been successful without each of them!”
