Biography

Professional Engineer and Registered Land Surveyor in the State of Georgia:

I am in my eleventh year of teaching at Middle Georgia and have also taught Mathematics as an Adjunct Professor at College of Coastal Georgia. I have 29 years of experience in Surveying and Civil Engineering. Prior to coming to Middle Georgia, I was co-owner of Pruitt & Purcell, P.C. in Brunswick for approximately 11 years and have previously been employed with the Federal Aviation Administration, Georgia Power Company and Planners & Engineers Collaborative. I am licensed as a Professional Engineer and a Registered Land Surveyor in Georgia. Currently, I am working on my Doctorate in Civil Engineering at Georgia Tech where I am obtaining a minor in Geographical Information Systems (GIS). I am certified by the Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission as a Trainer for Levels IA, IB and II of the new GSWCC Sediment & Erosion Control Program. I have recently served in various offices (including President) of the Surveying and Mapping Society of Georgia (SAMSOG) and have taught seminars in Technical Standards for Surveys and Sediment & Erosion Control Courses.
