BIOL 2131 Biography Mr. Swenson was born and mostly raised in South Dakota. Upon graduating high school, he'd
had enough of South Dakota and left three days later. He moved to LaGrange, GA and
worked in a cotton mill for a year. He lost 50 lbs and decided that he needed to go to college
to learn to work with his mind, not his back. He applied and was accepted to
Jacksonville State University in Alabama (not Florida). He earned his
BS in Biology in 1996 from JSU (Whup Troy). After graduating from JSU
in 2000 with his MS, he taught there as an adjunct for two years earning a wealth of practical classroom experience and deep understanding of generic canned goods. He spent 3 years
at Floyd College (now Georgia Highlands College) learning the ins and outs of Academia, higher education, and all-day meetings. MGC picked him up as a thirty-second round draft
pick in 2005.
