Sikorsky Schweizer 300CBi

Middle Georgia College operates and maintains three Schweizer 300CBi helicopters. These aircraft are a stable platform well suited for the training environment. MGC's helicopters are equipped with dual Garmin 430 GPSs as well as the instruments needed for students to become IFR (instrument flight rules) rated pilots. Our helicopters utilize 180 horsepower Lycoming engines capable of cruising at 75 knots. We also have a helicopter that is setup for external load training, along with an Aero Dynamix panel conversion for use with NVG's (night vision goggles).

The 300CBi provides a 360 degree field of view that greatly increases safety and optimizes the training environment. It also boasts a record of unparalleled success and multi-mission capability. With its rugged dependability, inherent value, and unmatched safety and crashworthiness, it is the most logical choice for initial flight training. Unlike the majority of helicopters utilized in the training industry today, the Schweizer helicopters are specifically designed for training and were used to train military aviators for a number of years.
