COMPASS Placement Exam

The college placement exam, COMPASS, is a computerized placement exam that tests reading, writing, and math skills. COMPASS placement exam requirements are determined by either the SAT verbal and math scores (ACT English and math scores) and the college prep curriculum. A combination of SAT and ACT scores is not used. Students who have both SAT and ACT scores may choose which test will determine COMPASS placement exam requirements. Students are required to take the COMPASS Exam prior to registration in order to determine specific requirements for remediation in Reading, English, and Mathematics. **Starting Spring semester 2012 the COMPASS test will be used as an entrance exam**
