MGC SIGNS MOU WITH TRIAD INTERNATIONAL MAINTENANCE CORPORATION (TIMCO)

(Cochran, GA) – Middle Georgia College signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Triad International Maintenance Corporation (TIMCO) on October 18. The agreement will allow MGC students who are seeking to become aircraft mechanics and are currently enrolled in the MGC Airframe and Power Plant program or Aircraft Structural program courses of study the opportunity to gain realistic work experience in repairs and inspections of commercial aircraft in a cooperative educational program.
To participate in the program, students must have completed the first 3 semesters in their program of study with at least a B average, and be recommended by an instructor at MGC. While in the program, students will be compensated as employees of TIMCO while still earning course credit for MGC.
MGC President Dr. Michael Stoy said, “We are excited to have the opportunity to join with TIMCO to provide hands-on educational experiences for our students that can contribute to the economic development of the region.”
Dr. Rick Charles, the MGC Division Chair of Aviation Management and Business, said “This alliance between TIMCO, one of the world’s most respected maintenance and repair organizations, and Middle Georgia College, is critical to both of our missions in the aviation industry. The alliance between TIMCO and MGC addresses the need for skilled mechanics and economic development in middle Georgia, as well as the needs of the global aviation industry.”
TIMCO is one of the world’s largest providers of aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul services for global airlines, governments, and aircraft leasing companies. TIMCO-Macon concentrates in airframe MRO for narrow body cargo and commercial aircraft.
