Dr. Richard A. Charles has joined Middle Georgia College as Division
Chair of Aviation Management and Business. His thirty year career in
the aviation industry includes leadership positions in engineering and
business with Continental Airlines, ARINC, the Collins Air Transport
Division of Rockwell International, Sagem Avionics, and Nathan
Associates, an international consulting firm based in Arlington, Virginia.
He has also headed successful aviation programs at Georgia State
University, Utah State University, and Arizona State University. He
holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from Georgia State University and
specializes in aviation and technology policy. Dr. Charles and his wife
Liz have two daughters and five grandchildren all of whom live in the
metropolitan Atlanta area.
