FAQ
Q: What do I need to bring with me to purchase my books?
A: All you need is a copy of your class schedule. If using financial aid, MGC student ID card is required
Q: How do I obtain a refund for a book(s)?
A: Save your receipt! The bookstore requires your receipt in order to process your refund. Do not write in new textbooks and do not open shrink-wrapped books until you are sure that you need the book(s). For details a copy of our refund policy is available from the Bookstore.
Q: Where do your textbook dollars go?
A: The high price of textbooks does not mean high profits for bookstores. Publishing expenses take the largest part out of every dollar you spend on new textbooks.
Q: When can I purchase my textbooks?
A: Textbooks are generally ready for sale on the day of registration.
Q: Who decides what books I need for my classes?
A: All required textbooks are based on faculty selection.
Q: When can I sell my books back to the bookstore?
A: Textbook buy-back is held during the week of finals at the end of Fall and Spring semesters. A buy-back is also scheduled at the end of Summer Session II. A buy-back is also scheduled during the first two days of classes.
Q: Do I need my sales receipt to sell books at buy-back?
A: No. You do however, need to bring your MGC ID.
Q: Does the bookstore carry used books?
A: Yes. Used books are available for most classes, however, used books are available on a first-come first-served basis.
Q: When can I use my financial aid to purchase my textbooks?
A: Financial aid is available beginning the first day of class each semester and may be used through the last day of drop/add.
Q: Can I use my financial aid to purchase books on-line?
A: At the present time, we are unable to accept financial aid for on-line purchases.
Q: How do I receive my HOPE book money?
A: HOPE book money will be downloaded to your student account along with any other financial aid. This can be used beginning the first day of class through the last day of drop/add. Any money not used will be refunded to the HigherOne account setup through the business office.
