MGCTHEATRE CLUB HOLDS TALENT SHOW
Release Date:12/03/2012

(Cochran, GA) – The Middle Georgia College Theatre Club recently held a Talent Show on the Cochran campus. Michael Ursrey won first place; The Game, featuring Katie Ruhl, Holden Holley, Bradley Hines, and Josh Sonola, won second place; and the drumming duo Josh Sonola and Hank Grier won third place. Ursrey said, “I’m always pretty nervous about playing piano on stage because most of what I play is improvisation. Since my style is a little different than what most people might be used to, I always worry about how the audience will react. Nothing I played was from memory or sheet music. It all depends on how creative I can be on the spot. I was definitely thrilled to win, but more than anything I just wanted people to give me a chance and listen.”

Students Caitlin Morris, Alexander Contreras, and Vunty Wan performed as Cookie Wombat, as well as students Kavan Marambe, Jada Holmes and Monique Ogunsusi, Hannah Cass, Erin Smith, Kaedon Rye, and Demarkus Smiley and Danielle Rutland. The Theatre Club President Timberley Thompson said the event went well. “I was really pleased by the level of talent we had on stage. It was really fun to see everyone perform.”
