Students who wish to be classified as fully online students must submit the Fully Online Student Declaration Form to the Division of Distance Learning prior to registration. Fully online students are defined as any student who takes only online classes.
Students who are enrolling in only online courses through Middle Georgia College are assessed an online rate fee that will remove the mandatory parking, activity, and athletic fees. Online students also are allowed to register prior to the rest of the campus population in order to ensure they have access to seats in the online courses. To be classified as fully online, a student must:
- submit this request form to the Division of Distance Learning;
- be majoring in a program that can be completed online or intend to complete core classes online before transferring;
- register for all online courses across consecutive terms;
- not be residing in an MGC residence hall.
Students taking online courses for one term only do not qualify as fully onlne.
If a fully online student takes an on-campus class, he or she will lose his or her online rate code and campus code for that term. The student will then have to submit a new Fully Online Student Declaration Form. The Division of Distance Learning will review the student's situation and make a determination as to whether he or she may be clarified as fully online.
