MGC will be adding more speed in the 2013 edition with Dodge County's Jaye Hilliard, Kayla Bawkin of Brantley County, and Kaylin McCoy of Valdosta. The Warriors will also pick up additional power hitting from Bawkin, Julie Anne Bradley (Stratford Academy), Lana Maddox (Bleckley County), and Caitlin Greer (Dodge County). McCoy and Alyssa Amerson of GMC are very welcomed additions to the pitching staff. All of the players know each other and are doing off season training and playing in preparation to return MGC to post season play in 2013.
Review
The 2012 Warriors posted a 24-23 season record and missed the NJCAA Region XVII Tournament for the first time since 2003. The team played well in the toughest fastpitch schedule it has faced to date. MGC played 11 games against six nationally ranked programs and nine All-American players. Offensively, the team was led by by Adele Harrison with a .412 average and 31 runs scored. Mallory Davis contributed a .377 average and Elliott Martin finished with a .311 average. Jordan Miller led the team in home runs (7) and RBIs (38). Katie Turner 2.44, Mallory Riner 2.55, and Kayla Mills 2.91 performed all of the mound work for the 2012 team. Harrison was named to the GCAA All Conference (first team).
